Dell Inspiron 1764 laptops are notorious for overheating. Most of the problems are due to the processor fan getting clogged up with dust bunnies. Sometimes a simple blast of air can fix the problem but in this case, the unit had to be disassembled to completely clean it up. New thermal grease will be applied also.
